Magnum
Mission
Today, if you search on the Internet, besides MagnumGT.com and MagnumXE.com, there is hardly any mention of the 1978 and 1979 Dodge Magnum. When I tell people that I have a Dodge Magnum they ask if it's a "SXT". In fact, wikipedia, until yesterday didn't even have a photo of a 1978 or 1979 Magnum. And to spit on the fire Mother Mopar makes no mention of the first Magnum. Instead, today's advertisements depict the sixties charger as the only history behind the new Magnum. Well, with over 80K Magnums made and helping Kyle Petty make a name for himself early on, I believe the Magnum XE and GT deserve a little more respect, don't you?
If we would like to see the resurrection of the Magnum in any form we need to make a big wave on the net. If we want to see any aftermarket parts made for our cars we need to show how much we truly enjoy our Magnums. I see more and more people buying 70's cars to restore, lets make sure they don't forget about the Magnum. I don't want to see the Magnum XE and GT falling into oblivion. I don't want someone to restore a stinking Chevy over a classic Magnum simply because they can't get parts.
We need more Magnum resources on the Internet today. I would like everyone out there to post their Magnum in other car websites like, CarDomain.com, MotorBase.com, CarSurvey.org, CarReview.com, and Epinions.com.
Now, go get em! Geoffrey
